Responsible breeding, from our home to yours.
Breeding Mastiffs is a privilege we take seriously. Every decision — from the parents we choose to the homes our puppies join — is guided by the health and happiness of the dogs.
Health-tested parents
Before any mating, our breeding dogs are screened for hip and elbow dysplasia, heart conditions and relevant DNA concerns. We only breed from dogs with temperaments we would happily live with ourselves.
Age-appropriate breeding
Our girls are fully mature, physically sound and health-screened before their first litter. Litters are spaced to allow each mother to recover fully, and we retire breeding dogs early enough for them to enjoy a long, comfortable life.
Raised in the home
Puppies are born in a dedicated whelping room at Invereck Cottage, not in a remote kennel block. They grow up around everyday household sounds, people of different ages and our other calm adult dogs.
Early socialisation
From three weeks onwards, puppies experience new surfaces, gentle handling, car travel, grooming and positive human contact. This early foundation helps shape the steady, confident temperament Mastiffs are loved for.
Veterinary care
Every puppy is checked by our vet, microchipped and vaccinated before leaving. We discuss flea, worm and feeding programmes with new owners, and we are always available if questions arise.
Honest matching
We talk to every prospective owner about lifestyle, experience and expectations. A Mastiff is not the right breed for every home, and we would rather help someone find a more suitable companion than place a puppy in the wrong environment.
Lifetime support
Our responsibility does not end when a puppy leaves. We offer advice for life, and if circumstances ever change, we will always take an Invereck dog back. Every puppy leaves with Kennel Club paperwork (if applicable), a microchip, first vaccinations and a welcome pack to help the first weeks go smoothly.
